First opened in 2017, Ella Supermarket is a fresh grocery delivery affiliate of life convenience and food delivery platform Meituan. Ella Supermarket is a one-stop offline + online supermarket that integrates fresh grocery, dining, e-commerce, and quick delivery to serve fast-paced city lives. Ella Supermarket offers as many as 6,000 consumer products, of which more than half are imported. Similar to Hema - Alibaba's fresh grocery delivery service - Ella supermarket also offers 30 min delivery to residents whose locations are no farther than 3km to the offline store.
However, Meituan has been downsizing the fresh grocery business since 2018, with only two Beijing stores continue to operate. Meituan will continue to concentrate its resource on improving the shopping experience and operational efficiency in its two remaining stores.
