In 2012 Christine listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Christine is a Shanghai-based bakery group controlled by Taiwan businessman, Lo Tien-An. Christine was one of the first foreign-invested bakeries in China and introduced Taiwanese-style sweet flavoured breads to the country at a time when Chinese customers were used to Russian types of bread. Christine produces 2,200 varieties of breads, cakes, moon cakes and pastries. The number of Christine stores has been steadily decreasing over the last few years as they close loss-making stores due to decreased customer loyalty. In 2012 Christine listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The group has five centralised bakeries to eliminate the need for on-site production and improve scalability of the business.
The bakeries are located in major cities in the Yangtze River Delta region in the East and support their retail outlets using in-house and 3rd-party delivery service. A forerunner in quality management, Christine were quick to obtain their ISO9001 certification, ensuring food safety. Christine are also well known for their modern IT, management system and facilities.
