In January 1999 Simply Thai opened the first authentic Thai restaurant in an old house in Shanghai Xuhui district. Since then, being a solid middle-end choice for Thai food, it has spread and become a favourite among those seeking their Thai favourites and it also has a Chinese twist to the menu. They ensure a Thai chef is in each kitchen and the raw ingredients are imported from Thailand so the taste is authentic. Over the past few years, Simply Thai has been repeatedly awarded as having the best Thailand cuisine by local media. They are popular with expatriates in Shanghai who are usually repeat diners as the quality of the food is good and quite authentic, prepared by Thai chefs, and the prices are reasonable.
