BACKGROUND:New Zealand F&B exporters need chef expertise in China, whether it be for developing new recipes, hosting events, filming promotional videos or general advice. In the past NZTE had a full time consulting chef, but with the evolving needs of customers and demand for chefs, ChefCo was born, a whole platform of chefs of all expertise and backgrounds.
APPROACH:The concept is simple, we bring on a selection of 40 or so chefs with varied background and educate them to become ambassadors of brand NZ. We do this by running ChefCo workshops, where top Kiwi chefs demo NZ F&B products to a live ChefCo audience. We also regularly send NZ goodie boxes to our chefs so they know what’s good – more than just milk and honey.

RESULTS:Now in its third year, ChefCo has gone from strength to strength, with a network of 100 chefs across 7 cities in China, with 13 NZ goodie boxes sent and 7 interactive workshops hosted.
